Born in Italy in 1955 where she began her self – taught education as a textile artist.
In the eighties she has exhibits in Milan, Turin and Florence.
EIn the nineties she moves to Mexico City and starts to use space as a fundamental element in her textile installations that are exhibited at the Laboratorio Arte Alameda (2000); at the MUCA-Roma (2000); at the Museo Carrillo Gil (1994/1996/1997) and at the Museo del Chopo (1993/1997), among others. She has exhibited her artwork on different occasions at the Galería Arte Actual (1999/2003/2006) and at the Museo Metropolitano de Monterrey (2003/2004/2005); at the Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro (2002/2005); and at the Museo Universitario de Ciencia y Artes in Mexico City (2004).
Since 2015 her installation work and her embroidery incorporate video and performance as a means of expression. Her most recent installations have been at the Centro de las Artes (2015) and the Museo Texil (2014/2016) in Oaxaca City; and at the Sala Superior del Tribunal Electoral de la CIudad de Mexico (2016) in Mexico City. In 2014 she was invited to exhibit her work at the Fashion & Textile Museum of London.
She was awarded with an honorary mention at the fifth edition of the Bienal FEMSA in Monterrey in 2001. Her artwork is selected at the XI edition of the Bienal R. Tamayo in Mexico City in 2002. She is invited as a guest of honor to the 6th edition of the Bienal Textil Internacional – WTA in 2011. She has received a grant by SECULTA of Oaxaca for the publication of her HILO ROJO 3047 project as well as the “J.Zagar” grant on behalf of the PMG.
Museum in Philadelphia in 2018 to exhibit an installation that depicts the complicated relationship between Mexico and the USA.
In November 2019 she is invited to the III Triennial of Fiber Art at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou (China) hosting the most talented selection of international fiber artists.
She is currently part of the exhibition “Reconfigurations: Textile as Textuality ” in the virtual room of the MUMA (Women’s Museum).
She lives and works in her workshop in Oaxaca City.
